Upping the fitness ante

Had you seen me a few months ago you would have noticed that I’d become a lazy lass.  It was cold outside so I went on an exercise hiatus. The temptation to stay in bed was just too strong. Ahh yeah, we’ve all been there… Fortunately a few weeks ago I managed to spur on my inner exercise spirit and get back into moving my body. And yes, as soon as I did there was a positive and noticeable change in both my mood and energy. It was a needed reminder that working out is not only good for the body but also good for the soul. Avid readers and Instagram followers will know that I currently do a boot camp down on Sydney’s Northern Beaches three mornings a week. When I moved to Mosman, I tried a new location but there’s just something about the beach and sun rising over the ocean that has me – it’s so blissful and calming. Rise and shine – how to become a morning person

You may or may not already know this, but for the last six months I’ve been working on becoming a morning person. Yes, I can almost hear all of you who know me well laughing yourselves silly. You see, I’m a girl who loves her sleep-ins. Flashback to the beginning of the year it was rare to see me out of bed before 10am on a Saturday. Unsurprisingly, the switch has been a hard and often grumpy journey. However, my mentality started to change when I packed my bags and moved to Sydney’s Northern Beaches. My beautiful flatmate (who is currently writing an exciting guest post for The Whole Life) encouraged me to join a boot camp with her on my first morning in Queenscliff. Looking back, this was a big jump considering it was the middle of winter.
