Unwinding in Bangkok

Wow! What a year 2015 has been. As I write this, I’m sitting in our room at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok. Aaron is sleeping just near me and I’m watching the sunrise over this amazing city from our window.

For a place with so much going on, there is an incredibly tranquil feeling present. Perhaps its the holiday vibes kicking in or the Oliver Tank playing in my headphones?

2015 has been one of the busiest, craziest and most exciting adventures I’ve ever encountered. Our little tribe of two has gone from strength to strength and it’s a fair assessment to say we’ve given this year our all. From work, to living well, to finding our home in Mosman and getting engaged in September (and the planning that follows said announcement); gearing down and just being is well over-due.

I know I often preach about finding balance, but this year has been a particularly hard one to master. With so many exciting changes in the air, finding time to just step away and seek quietness hasn’t always been easy! I don’t think either of us has been truly relaxed since our mini vaycay to Tassie earlier in the year.

And while things have been busy, I’m happy to report that for me it’s been a stellar year health wise. My holistic approach to managing my endo has seen me grow incredibly. My pain is almost non-existent and I’m able to understand and treat my body in a much more connected way.

On the internal growth side of things, I’ve also made some huge leaps and bounds that have left me feeling incredibly empowered and confident that 2016 is going to be my best yet. I’ve made some great new friendships, and I’m starting to build a routine that makes me feel so incredibly grounded in my purpose. I’m seeking out what’s important to me and making these things happen. I’m working on making 2016 a reflection of this.  More on this to come. 😉

As we pause and unwind before gearing up for what will no doubt be another big year, I just want to take a moment to say thank you to all our friends (new and old), family and those of you I’ve met through this blog.

While I’ve been incredibly slack posting on here these last few months, the quiet time has simply been the final push to get to this moment. I’ve got so much I can’t wait to share with you all in the new year and as the holiday vibe kicks in, already my mind is exploding with excitement for the potential to come.

It’s overwhelming knowing that all Aaron and I have to do today is simply enjoy each other’s company and the wonders of this incredible city.

Christmas is such a magical time of year, and I hope that everyone who reads this is on the cusp of a very relaxing break filled with sunshine, joy, and peace.

All my love and gratitude,

  1. Great post lovely, what a fantastic year you’ve had! Enjoy Bangkok, it’s such a cool city. I’d recommend dinner at Nahm if you have time (although not sure if ut would meet your requirements) and a trip to the palace x
